expressions of interesT

Expressions of Interest are now closed for writers, illustrators, and literary translators to join our first MIRROR Mentorship Program in 2022.

MIRROR will identify, support, mentor, and develop up to three writers, illustrators, and literary translators with the aim of making new bilingual Australian children's literature that reflects a diverse and curious reading public.

Artists will be matched with a mentor who supports the needs the artist identifies, and participate in a year-long program of skills development, industry networking and market development.

Stay in touch to follow the progress of our 2022 participants.

Think+DO Tank Foundation

Think+DO Tank Foundation is a creative force for social cohesion and belonging. We work to reveal and strengthen the threads that connect us all through the sharing of story, place, language, meaning and by making apparent our connectedness.

We champion multilingual literacies and creative production models. Our project, Lost in Books is a multilingual kids’ bookshop and creative hub. It disrupts monolingual models of creative production in Australian literature and supports the creative production of multilingual Australian stories.

Scribble

Scribble is an award-winning, independent publisher of vibrant and thought-provoking picture books for children. Working with brilliant artists from around the world, we endeavour to publish books that are inclusive and representative of our community, whether it be supporting local contributors, and translating books from other territories for the Australian market. Through in-house expertise in design and illustration, and wider publishing connections both locally and abroad, Scribble is in a unique position to support the Mirror Mentorship with networking and mentoring opportunities.
